Rendezvous: A place to meet and live life together

Among some of the first settlers to North America were the French trappers. These men spent much time alone in what was then a harsh environment. Many a cold night they worked by themselves and away from their families.

But on regular occasions these men would get together in what they called rendezvous. At these meetings furs were sold, stories were swapped, conflicts were duked out and resolved, relationships were developed, marriages were honored, and, of course, much feasting was enjoyed by all. In essence, the rendezvous was a social party that these men lived for. For them and their families, it was community.

This is what we are as a church – those who are bound together in Christ living life together. And this is what Rendezvous is – a place to share what is going on in our life together as the church.

Finding your place at the table

The gospel is neither religion nor irreligion, neither morality nor immorality, but something else entirely. Curious about what is left? A group of men will be meeting to explore that very topic beginning Saturday, Feb 27th. Contact the church office for more details.
